How does it work?
A flexible steel rod is inserted inside the exhaust pipe. As the pipe bends, the steel rod helps the exhaust pipe retain its shape and prevents kinks or wrinkles. This eliminates exhaust back pressure, allowing the exhaust gases to flow with less turbulence. It also improves the sound quality of the exhaust, giving it a richer, fuller sound.
Mandrel Bending Solutions ensures the tube bend is made without wrinkling or kinking the tube at the bending point. It’s especially helpful when bending thinner tubing like exhaust pipes without creating any deformities.

Mandrel Bending Solutions grew from Arundel Muffler, a custom exhaust shop located in Pasadena, Maryland. When we recognized the limitations of our Huth “crush bender,” we decided to offer on-site, custom mandrel bending services for our performance oriented customers. We became the only exhaust shop in Maryland and one of a select few in the United States to offer custom mandrel bending with the addition of our Transfluid German manufactured Mandrel Bender. These Mandrel Tubing Benders are configured with tooling for 2″, 2¼”, 2½” ,and 3″, mild steel, stainless steel, and pre-bent aluminum. The center line radius on most bends is 1.5 times the outside diameter of the tube.
