Responding, if not correcting last year’s legislation of the cutoff of model year 2000 and newer, Maryland’s General Assembly through an amendment reset the limit to a rolling 25 year limit.
This amendment by State Senator JB Jennings in the 2025 Budget Reconciliation and Financial Accountability Act was at least a good start. There are two caveats- 1) It will not become effective until July 2027 and 2) previously tagged vehicles as historic were not grandfathered in. For more information visit the MCAA page.
