The HPDC will be held on Summit Point’s Jefferson Circuit and should be lots of fun! You don’t need to own an Audi to drive with us. \nThe event is focused on beginners/novice student participants who are starting to get engaged in track events or those who want to improve their driving skills for the daily commute. \nThis annual PCC-ACNA clinic is an instructional event tailored to the needs of members with no previous driving experience beyond the “normal” daily commute and driver’s ed classes. The clinic provides a safe controlled environment to learn and practice advanced defensive driving techniques and car control through a combination of classroom and on-track exercises. \nFor anyone who wishes to enhance their driving knowledge and enjoy a safer road experience through improved skills\, confidence and understanding\, this event is designed for that purpose.  It provides the ideal start for those who may want to progress and participate in our two-day Drivers’ Education (DE) events. ABSOLUTELY NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED and there will be plenty of patient instructors to help guide you through the day. \nOver the past fifteen plus years\, we have developed an outstanding program that puts beginners and novices at ease and offers valuable instruction even for those who have recently started doing Drivers’ Education events. The morning is classroom and car-control exercises including a wet skidpad\, braking\, and slalom. The afternoon finishes off the event by applying what was learned in the morning with on-track driving. \n\n\n\n \n\n\nEvent requirements\n\nYou must be 16 years old and a fully licensed driver to participate in this event. Spots are limited. \nTeens 16 or 17 years old\, holding a full\, valid driver’s license (not provisional or learners permit) may participate in PCC-ACNA driving schools WITH a parent/legal guardian signing the Minor Release and Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement (https://member.audiclubna.org/event-master-forms) at the start of the event and witnessed by an Event Official. \nVEHICLE NOTE: You do not need to drive an Audi to participate in this event. We will look after you for a few days of great driving\, sharing good company\, and unlock some of the secrets of this very special place we call ‘home’ \nOur mission here is to bring you on a driving adventure like no other around the country. For this adventure we will be exploring the best back roads and some of the most gorgeous scenery our great country has to offer. \nAll of our events start and end at the Fontana Village Resort\, which is less than 10 miles from the Tail of the Dragon. Here\, we will have a group driver’s meeting\, providing a full walk-through of the drives to help orientate you on the journey. You will be given a comprehensive event guide describing in detail each of the drives and stops. Each event will be different\, but we will always have some special activities planned. We will stage the cars for the drives and there will be a tour guide / lead car to create a fully guided group experience. There will be little to no cell phone signal in these mountains\, so the group will communicate with FRS walkie-talkie radios.
