DESCRIPTION:ADVANCED DRIVERS COURSE!  April 3-4 – BREAKING NEWS – MIKE SKEEN will be at VIR for our event.   Mike is a professional driver and coach with experience across all sorts of platforms. He is currently a driver of the #32 Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the IMSA GTD category\, which lead the most laps at this year’s 24 Hours of Daytona. He is an expert in data analysis for car and driver development and is happy to call VIR his home Track.  You don’t want to miss this.  Register here.  \n\nPCC’s annual event for ADVANCED Drivers\, club racers\, and race teams on VIR’s Full Course. This event offers a maximum track exposure of up to eight (8) hours per day\, advanced classroom sessions related to high performance driving with an option to request an Audi Club instructor/coach or bring your own individual coach pending Audi Club CI approval. Don’t miss out on expert instruction by special guests who will provide specialized workshops and interactive sessions throughout the event! \nThe structure of this event is as follows: \n\nOpen to Advanced Solo run group drivers (Group 2 – Black\, Group 1 – Red)\, current instructors\, and those with a current race license from an approved sports car racing sanctioning organization (e.g.\, SCCA\, NASA\, PCA\, BMW CCA\, IMSA\, etc.).\nThe open track format will maximize run and on-track coaching time while taking into consideration opportunities to access guest experts and specialized workshops.\nOur guest experts will offer sessions covering topics related to high performance driving skills and techniques as well as chassis setups.  All are welcome to attend.\n\nGeneral Driver School event rules & regulations related to Age & Licensing\, Driver Level/Group Guidelines\, Open Top and High Center of Gravity Vehicles\, Helmets\, and Refunds and Cancellations listed on the Driver School Event Rules page are also valid\, so please review! \nEvent requirements \n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou must be an Advanced Solo (not simply solo like the Audi Group 3 – Blue or PCA White) run group driver (i.e. Audi Club Group 2 – Black and Group 1 – Red)\, current instructor\, or hold a current race license from an approved sports car racing sanctioning organization (e.g.\, SCCA\, NASA\, PCA\, BMW CCA\, IMSA\, etc.). Please ensure your driving history in MSR is up-to-date. If you have not previously participated in an event with our chapter\, you may be asked to provide an experience resume. \nActive Audi Club North America (ACNA) membership is required to participate in this event. If you are not a member\, or your membership expires prior to the start of the event\, you will not be able to register. Please visit audiclubna.org/join to join or renew. If you are a new member\, you will receive an email with credentials to login to your account and retrieve your member number (you can also use the Audi Club app). Once you have your member number\, please follow these instructions to add it to your profile. \nALL DRIVERS AND COACHES must register and pay the appropriate registration fee. Coaches who will not be driving can register for free. Coaches who will only be driving a registered driver’s car for a lap or two (e.g.\, to perform reconnaissance\, set baselines\, etc.) are also allowed to register for free. \nVEHICLE NOTE: You do not need to drive an Audi to participate in this event. Convertibles are only permitted IF approved safety equipment is installed. High center-of-gravity vehicles (e.g.\, SUVs\, CUVs\, etc.) are not eligible. Open wheeled cars are not eligible to participate. \nThe event does require a tech inspection form completed and stamped by a mechanic be submitted at onsite registration check-in. We will perform a tech inspection on site. Daily peer inspections are recommended to make sure your car is in safe condition. Also a completed the Medical form is to be turned in at onsite registration. Be sure to  wear long pants\, a long-sleeve shirt and closed toe shoes.

The HPDC will be held on Summit Point’s Jefferson Circuit and should be lots of fun! You don’t need to own an Audi to drive with us. \nThe event is focused on beginners/novice student participants who are starting to get engaged in track events or those who want to improve their driving skills for the daily commute. \nThis annual PCC-ACNA clinic is an instructional event tailored to the needs of members with no previous driving experience beyond the “normal” daily commute and driver’s ed classes. The clinic provides a safe controlled environment to learn and practice advanced defensive driving techniques and car control through a combination of classroom and on-track exercises. \nFor anyone who wishes to enhance their driving knowledge and enjoy a safer road experience through improved skills\, confidence and understanding\, this event is designed for that purpose.  It provides the ideal start for those who may want to progress and participate in our two-day Drivers’ Education (DE) events. ABSOLUTELY NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED and there will be plenty of patient instructors to help guide you through the day. \nOver the past fifteen plus years\, we have developed an outstanding program that puts beginners and novices at ease and offers valuable instruction even for those who have recently started doing Drivers’ Education events. The morning is classroom and car-control exercises including a wet skidpad\, braking\, and slalom. The afternoon finishes off the event by applying what was learned in the morning with on-track driving. \n\n\n\n \n\n\nEvent requirements\n\nYou must be 16 years old and a fully licensed driver to participate in this event. Spots are limited. \nTeens 16 or 17 years old\, holding a full\, valid driver’s license (not provisional or learners permit) may participate in PCC-ACNA driving schools WITH a parent/legal guardian signing the Minor Release and Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement (https://member.audiclubna.org/event-master-forms) at the start of the event and witnessed by an Event Official. \nVEHICLE NOTE: You do not need to drive an Audi to participate in this event. Convertibles are only permitted IF approved safety equipment is installed. High center-of-gravity vehicles (e.g.\, SUVs\, CUVs\, etc.) are also restricted. Additional details\, including pre-approved makes/models\, are provided in the Driver School Event Rules. Open wheeled cars are not eligible to participate. \nThe Clinic does not require a pre-event tech inspection but we will perform a tech inspection on site to make sure your car is in safe condition. Be sure to wear long pants\, a long-sleeve shirt and closed toe shoes. We will provide helmets when they’re needed. \nNo special tires or brakes or other car modifications are required.  Learn more about your car just as it sits! Simply make sure the existing tires and brakes and other mechanical equipment are in good condition. You should have had your brake fluid replaced in the last 2 years. \nActive Audi Club North America (ACNA) membership is not required for this portion of the event.
