Discover the stories and witness the unmatched beauty of these early racing marvels that laid the foundation for the motorsport we know and love today. \nIn the early 20th century\, the thrilling world of automobile racing took a bold turn with the introduction of board tracks\, high-banked wooden racing circuits that saw fearless drivers push their machines to the limit. This event will highlight the ingenuity and innovation of brass-era race cars and the daring pioneers who raced them. \nThis Demo Day offers a unique opportunity to explore the history of brass cars and board track racing\, as well as to engage with fellow enthusiasts\, historians\, and automotive experts. Join us at the Simeone Museum on April 8\, 2023\, for “Crank ‘Em Up… Brass Cars and Board Tracks” and immerse yourself in the captivating world of early motorsport. \nWitness these spectacular machines come to life with live demonstrations on our 3-acre back “track”. Feel the rumble and listen to the unmistakable roar of their engines\, as our experienced drivers recreate the exhilarating atmosphere of early 20th-century racing. \nAt this exclusive Demo Day\, you’ll get up close and personal with four featured Simeone Collection cars that played a significant role in the history of early motorsports: \n• 1907 Renault Vanderbilt Racer\n• 1911 Mercer 35J Raceabout\n• 1912 National Model 40\n• 1916 Stutz Bearcat \nFor tickets\, a schedule of events\, and more information visit the link below.
